Afferent discharges from the hepatic branch of the vagal nerve occurred inversely with the
concentration of glucose fed into the liver. These discharges were unaffected by other
glucosides. The receptor was rapidly inactivated by oxygen deficiency and reactivated by
additional oxygen. There is a glucoreceptor in the liver which tonically sends information
