The influence of kainic acid (KA)-induced limbic seizure activity on the expression of mRNA
for nerve growth factor (NGF) in adult rat brain was studied using in situ hybridization and S1
nuclease protection techniques with RNA probes complementary to murine and rat NGF
mRNA. Within hippocampus, intracerebroventricular injection of 0.5 μg KA caused a
